Lunar Lander Test Bench Development Engineer (Aerospace): Leading the design, development, and deployment of a remote test facility for hot-fire propulsion and hopper flight testing with an accent on cryogenic fluid systems and ground infrastructure. Focus on implementing autonomous operations, safety-critical control architectures, and managing end-to-end project execution from concept to operational readiness.

Location: On-site in Bordeaux, France, with periodic travel to the United Arab Emirates for test campaigns.

Salary: €47.5K – €60K

What you will do

  • Lead the design and implementation of a remote test site in the UAE, including all ground infrastructure and utilities.
  • Develop P&IDs and design cryogenic and high-pressure fluid systems for Liquid Oxygen, Liquid Methane, Helium, and Nitrogen.
  • Coordinate with civil engineering partners to implement test stands, safety perimeters, and support buildings.
  • Define and implement automation architectures for facility control and safe vehicle connections.
  • Manage the full project lifecycle including procurement, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning.
  • Perform hazard analyses (FMEA, HAZOP) and develop comprehensive test procedures and operational concepts.

Requirements

  • Degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, energy systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in propulsion test facilities or hot-fire test bench development.
  • Strong expertise in fluid systems engineering, specifically with cryogenic propellants.
  • Experience designing or operating ground support equipment for rocket propulsion systems.
  • Knowledge of automation systems and safety-critical control architectures for industrial environments.
  • Willingness to travel to and work periodically in the United Arab Emirates.
