TL;DR

Manager, Operational Risk Capital (Finance): Managing the end-to-end operational risk capital process for Insurance, Pensions & Investments with an accent on Solvency II requirements and governance. Focus on coordinating risk and loss data inputs, providing analytical insights on capital drivers, and influencing senior stakeholders.

Location: Hybrid (Edinburgh, Bristol, or Leeds). Must be based in the UK and spend at least 40% of time (2 days per week) in the office.

Salary: £67,000 – £81,900 per year

What you will do

  • Manage the operational risk capital process for IP&I, ensuring all timelines and governance deliverables are met.
  • Ensure capital processes align with internal policies and Solvency II regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate risk, control, and loss data inputs in collaboration with Risk Owners and Finance teams.
  • Analyze capital drivers and trends to provide insights for senior management decision-making.
  • Prepare reporting and governance materials to support the approval of capital outcomes.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for operational risk capital matters across Group functions.

Requirements

  • Experience in risk management and controls at a managerial level.
  • Strong understanding of capital risk frameworks, model approaches, and Solvency II requirements.
  • Proficiency in ERMF and operational risk frameworks.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work from office sites in Edinburgh, Bristol, or Leeds.
