Chargeman (Manufacturing)

Location: Seremban, Malaysia; on-site plant role

What you will do

• Maintain daily plant facilities and utilities, including HVAC systems, air blowers, vacuum pumps, water pumps, exhaust fans, gas mixers, and other equipment.
• Respond to electrical and facilities breakdowns, restore services, troubleshoot machinery, and prevent interruptions affecting manufacturing lines.
• Inspect and test transformers, switchboards, distribution panels, generators, fire-fighting systems, fire alarms, sprinkler pumps, and related support equipment.
• Supervise contractors and facilities projects, coordinate plant shutdowns, and ensure work meets safety procedures, specifications, and schedules.
• Manage the chargeman team, assign equipment ownership, prepare incident and weekly reports, and maintain SOPs, procedures, documentation, and single-line diagrams.
• Implement preventive maintenance, corrective actions, energy-saving projects, cost-saving activities, and EHS requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Chargeman Certificate AO or above, recognized by Suruhanjaya Tenaga.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar capacity within the manufacturing industry.
• Availability to work on-call and respond proactively to facility emergencies.
• Knowledge of applicable electrical legislation for the area of responsibility.
• Knowledge of plant room utilities, industrial engineering, savings projects, and environmental health and safety management systems is beneficial.
