Facilities Mechanical Engineer (HVAC)

Location: Bayan Lepas, Malaysia; work at PN1 and PN2 facilities

What you will do

• Own the operational health, maintenance, repair, and monitoring of HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, building management, and associated facility systems.
• Manage mechanical systems across multiple manufacturing plants and support production and customer requirements.
• Plan and implement capacity changes, system improvements, reliability hardening, safety enhancements, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Review operating data, conduct facility inspections, coordinate preventive maintenance, and organize major shutdown maintenance.
• Supervise contractors, technicians, consultants, and outsourced HVAC maintenance services.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure facility operations comply with safety, contamination control, 5S, and applicable regulations.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• 5–10 years of experience in facilities-related work, preferably in semiconductor, electronics, or related manufacturing industries.
• Leadership, management, and hands-on HVAC technical competence.
• Experience with predictive and preventive maintenance.
• Knowledge of HVAC and cleanroom design is preferred.
• Knowledge and application of psychrometric principles.

Nice to have

• Project Management Professional (PMP) or Facility Management Professional (FMP) certification.
