Senior Accountant (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States. The role requires access to ITAR-controlled information, so the hired candidate must be a U.S. person or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export-control license.

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead the month-end close process and accelerate the close timeline while ensuring complete, accurate, and timely reporting.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations for fixed assets, inventory, revenue, and receivables.
• Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure accurate coding and classification across customer programs, R&D projects, and general and administrative activities.
• Improve internal controls, accounting policies, and business processes across functions.
• Participate in ERP implementations and user acceptance testing across accounting and manufacturing systems.
• Coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers and support ad hoc finance activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Ramp, Bill.com, or MaintainX, plus Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage transactional work and strategic projects.
• Must be a U.S. person under ITAR or otherwise eligible for a federally issued export-control license.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, satellite, manufacturing, telecommunications, defense, or high-velocity startup environments.
• Public accounting experience or an active CPA license.
• Experience using AI tools for month-end close and accounting activities.
