Sr Accounts Payable Accountant (Aerospace)

Location: Alameda, California, United States; on-site with occasional work from home on a case-by-case basis

Salary: $105,000–$125,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including high-volume invoice processing, three-way matching, vendor master data, and payment runs.
• Investigate invoice, pricing, quantity, coding, and payment discrepancies and respond to vendor inquiries.
• Reconcile the accounts payable subledger with the general ledger and maintain aging reports.
• Process employee expense reports and support 1099 and sales/use tax compliance.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close, journal entries, accruals, audits, schedules, and management reporting.
• Improve procure-to-pay controls and workflows while collaborating with Procurement, Treasury, and other departments.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of accounts payable and/or general accounting experience.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience with ERP or accounting software such as Odoo, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and reconciliations.
• Must satisfy applicable U.S. ITAR/EAR requirements as a documented U.S. Person or be able to obtain the required trade license; additional background checks and government-contract or clearance requirements may apply.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI tools.
• Experience with AP automation tools such as Bill.com, Coupa, Tipalti, or Concur.
• Familiarity with 1099 and sales/use tax compliance requirements.
