Location: Must be based in the United States. Preferred location is Austin or central Texas for occasional in-person collaboration, but the role is open to fully remote candidates within the US.

Salary: $210,000 - $240,000 w/15% annual bonus

What you will do

• Design and implement global privacy and data protection compliance programs.
• Develop and oversee AI governance, including risk assessments and ethical controls.
• Draft and maintain privacy policies and manage data protection terms in customer and vendor contracts.
• Partner with product, engineering, and IT teams to provide legal guidance on product design and security initiatives.
• Monitor regulatory developments in copyright, privacy, and AI law to provide strategic advice.
• Centralize legal knowledge and create scalable processes to increase operational efficiency.

Requirements

• J.D. (or LL.M. plus foreign law degree) and member of a U.S. state Bar in good standing required.
• 5+ years of related legal experience, specifically advising software companies.
• Strong knowledge of privacy and data protection laws (CCPA, CPRA, GDPR) required.
• Experience advising on AI governance and privacy implications of AI systems required.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical advice.
