Salary: $178,000 - $225,000

What you will do

• Own day-to-day legal advice regarding collections, recoveries, and servicing operations.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with debt sale counterparties, vendors, and technology providers.
• Monitor and implement regulatory developments, specifically regarding AI tools and back-office automation.
• Partner with Compliance and Risk teams to refine consumer communications and internal processes.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks for new business initiatives and product launches.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school and active law license in good standing.
• 7+ years of legal experience at a large law firm or in-house at a fintech/bank.
• Deep expertise in federal and state credit card/collections law (FDCPA, SCRA, Reg Z, Reg B, UDAAP).
• Must be able to work fully remote within the United States with quarterly travel.
• Proven track record of managing multiple shifting projects and briefing senior leadership.

Nice to have

• In-house experience at a national bank.
• Specific expertise in AML/BSA, fraud, or vendor contract management.
