What you will do
- Design conversational experiences across chat, voice, and AI assistant interfaces.
- Develop prompts, assistant behaviors, and interaction logic for complex AI systems.
- Prototype and iterate on onboarding flows, memory handling, and multi-step user interactions.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and ML teams to shape assistant communication and response patterns.
- Analyze user behavior and conversation failures to proactively improve assistant quality and reliability.
- Establish scalable conversation design standards and best practices across product surfaces.
Requirements
- Experience in conversation design, UX writing, product design, or interaction design.
- Strong understanding of conversational UX for chatbots, voice assistants, or AI-powered products.
- Ability to design clear multi-turn interactions, assistant flows, and error recovery patterns.
- Strong communication and systems thinking skills to simplify complex AI capabilities.
- Experience collaborating closely with engineers and AI/ML teams in fast-moving environments.
- Must be able to work in a hybrid capacity in New York, NY.
Nice to have
- Experience designing AI-powered or data-heavy products.
- Familiarity with usability testing and qualitative research methods.
- Experience working on zero-to-one products or early-stage teams.
- Interest in emerging UX patterns for automation and intelligent systems.
