Hardware & Silicon Validation Senior Staff Engineer (PCIe/Ethernet)

Location: Westborough, MA, United States. Applicants must be eligible to access export-controlled technology under U.S. regulations; non-U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, and protected individuals may be subject to an export license review.

Base pay: $143,400–$212,230 per year.

What you will do

• Integrate and support PCIe and Ethernet initialization firmware within the SDK.
• Debug I/O interfaces using diagnostic tools, lab equipment, and low-level analysis.
• Develop, execute, and improve silicon-level and system-level validation plans.
• Validate PCIe and Ethernet features on new SoCs, including failure analysis and root cause identification.
• Drive issue resolution through deep debugging and firmware or software fixes.
• Support silicon bring-up and collaborate with hardware, design, and system teams on complex issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree and/or PhD with 3+ years of experience.
• Hands-on experience debugging complex hardware and software interactions.
• Experience developing, validating, and executing system- or silicon-level tests.
• Familiarity with new SoC bring-up and low-level initialization flows.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and embedded firmware development.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, traffic generators, or similar lab equipment.

Nice to have

• Experience with PCIe, Ethernet, or high-speed interfaces such as PCIe Gen5/Gen6 and 100G/200G Ethernet.
• Familiarity with firmware or networking/SoC platforms.
• Automation and scripting experience with Python or shell.
