• Monitor wire services and sources to keep the newsroom updated on developments.
• Plan daily news agendas and assign resources for multi-platform output.
• Liaise with programming teams to ensure live content meets editorial needs.
• Develop original story ideas and build new contacts to break exclusive news.
• Manage daily coverage of the UK political pool and conduct interviews when required.
