What you will do

• Lead daily production meetings and assign tasks to journalists, reporters, and researchers.
• Commission output and deploy resources effectively to support forward planning.
• Motivate teams to respond quickly to breaking news and provide creative direction.
• Contribute to the production of original, impactful journalism across digital, social, and radio platforms.
• Manage complex legal and editorial issues in accordance with hirify.global guidelines.
• Support the development and growth of junior staff members.

Requirements

• Must be based in Belfast or able to work from the Belfast newsroom.
• Demonstrable first-class production skills and strong news judgement.
• In-depth knowledge of politics, current affairs, and issues affecting Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
• Proven ability to generate distinctive journalism and build strong professional contacts.
• Strong understanding of the digital media landscape and ability to write clear, concise copy for multiple platforms.
• Experience operating calmly under pressure and managing complex editorial challenges.
