What you will do
- Lead daily production meetings and assign tasks to journalists, reporters, and researchers.
- Commission output and deploy resources effectively to support forward planning.
- Motivate teams to respond quickly to breaking news and provide creative direction.
- Contribute to the production of original, impactful journalism across digital, social, and radio platforms.
- Manage complex legal and editorial issues in accordance with guidelines.
- Support the development and growth of junior staff members.
Requirements
- Must be based in Belfast or able to work from the Belfast newsroom.
- Demonstrable first-class production skills and strong news judgement.
- In-depth knowledge of politics, current affairs, and issues affecting Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
- Proven ability to generate distinctive journalism and build strong professional contacts.
- Strong understanding of the digital media landscape and ability to write clear, concise copy for multiple platforms.
- Experience operating calmly under pressure and managing complex editorial challenges.

- Experience in people management and team collaboration.
- Track record in delivering original, high-impact journalism.
- Familiarity with audience insight tools and digital engagement metrics.
