What you will do

• Create news stories and digital pieces for the hirify.global Naidheachdan website and social media channels.
• Capture high-quality images and video to attract and engage new audiences.
• Produce exceptional storytelling through both written and video formats.
• Utilize technology and adapt workflows to deliver original journalism across all platforms.
• Pitch a wide range of creative stories sourced from your own local community.

Requirements

• Complete fluency in spoken and written Scottish Gaelic.
• Excellent communication skills in both Gaelic and English.
• Deep interest in current affairs in the Gaelic context and understanding of its audiences.
• Technical proficiency to create and deliver journalism on various digital platforms.
• Must identify as deaf, disabled, and/or neurodivergent.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of using social media specifically within a news context.
• Experience in reaching underrepresented or hard-to-reach audiences.
• Experience prioritizing social media delivery ahead of linear news outlets.
• Advanced camera operation and video editing skills.
