Legal Director, Regulatory Counsel (Semiconductors)

What you will do

• Monitor new and revised regulations, lead regulatory intake, and maintain regulatory records.
• Interpret regulatory requirements and advise on applicability, risk exposure, legal consequences, and compliance actions.
• Partner with Government Affairs, subject matter experts, business stakeholders, and external parties to identify regulatory changes and support strategic responses.
• Own the regulatory monitoring tool and strengthen the technical capability for tracking relevant regulatory developments.
• Coordinate awareness initiatives, risk impact assessments, compliance gap analyses, progress tracking, and escalation of issues.
• Act as the key legal contact for regulators and external counsel in EMEA.

Requirements

• Law degree (LLM) in an EMEA jurisdiction.
• Approximately 15+ years of relevant regulatory or compliance advisory experience, ideally in a multinational, technology, or semiconductor environment.
• Ability to monitor and interpret complex, evolving regulations and turn them into clear, pragmatic guidance.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively in a matrixed international organization.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with regulatory intelligence or regulatory change management programs and tools.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity and ICT regulation, product compliance, origin-related requirements, and technology governance.
• Strong business acumen, sound judgment, and a solutions-oriented approach.
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally and influencing without formal authority.
