Mechanical Engineer (Defense)

What you will do

• Design fixtures, jigs, enclosures, and bench structures in SolidWorks with full integration of electronics and instrumentation.
• Develop clamping, alignment, and actuation mechanisms for repeatable, ergonomic positioning of prototypes.
• Build fixtures rapidly using 3D printing, CNC, and aluminium framing, iterating based on hands-on validation.
• Validate fixture repeatability, durability, and operator ergonomics, utilizing basic FEA and thermal/CFD analysis.
• Manage quick-turn machining and printing suppliers while driving procurement with the Supply Chain team.
• Define and maintain a modular, reusable fixture-mechanics standard across all product teams.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Paris (On-site role).
• Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
• Proven experience designing lab or development fixtures, jigs, or rigs.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, including complex assembly modelling and 2D drawings with GD&T.
• Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping and in-house fabrication techniques.
• Ability to integrate electronics and instrumentation into fixtures with reliable measurement access.

Nice to have

• Experience with mechanism and actuation design such as clamping and pneumatics.
• Basic FEA and thermal/CFD skills to validate designs.
