Company

The Exploration Company is developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle capable of carrying cargo and potentially humans.

What you will do

• Lead a CNC workshop team of approximately 6 people, managing daily priorities, workload, and machine allocation.
• Drive shop-floor routines to identify and remove blockers, manage anomalies, and ensure safety and quality.
• Optimize workshop performance, focusing on machine utilization, cycle times, and first-time-right delivery.
• Support and challenge CNC programming, machining strategies, setups, and workholding for complex aerospace parts.
• Ensure full compliance with AS/EN 9100 standards, including traceability and non-conformity management.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Metrology, Supply Chain, and Design Engineering.

Requirements

• Strong experience in CNC machining, specifically 3-axis milling, 5-axis milling, and CNC turning/mill-turn.
• Proficiency in CAM programming and experience with aerospace materials like aluminium, stainless steel, and Inconel.
• Proven track record of leading technical production teams in high-precision industries (aerospace, defense, etc.).
• Knowledge of quality standards such as AS/EN 9100 or ISO 9001.
• Professional level proficiency in both French and English.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Bordeaux, France.

Nice to have

• Experience with HyperMill, Haas, HG Grimme, Mazak, DMG MORI, or Studer equipment.
• Knowledge of ERP/MES tools such as Odoo.
• Experience in precision grinding and performing AS/EN 9100 audits.
