What you will do

• Establish strategic objectives for PeerJ and F1000 aligned with organizational goals.
• Drive innovation in open access publishing models to expand market reach and impact.
• Optimize business models, including lifetime memberships and article processing charges.
• Lead and develop a team of editorial staff, ensuring clear objectives and talent retention.
• Monitor emerging trends in open research and transparent publishing practices.
• Foster strategic partnerships with research institutions, funders, and societies.

Requirements

• Right to work and live in the UK.
• Must live within commutable distance to the Milton Park office.
• Extensive experience in academic publishing with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Deep understanding of open access publishing landscapes and innovative models.
• Proven track record of executing strategic plans for revenue growth and market expansion.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in P&L or budget oversight.
