TL;DR
Sr. Scientist (Cell Therapy): Designing and optimizing next-generation in-vivo CAR-T research for novel cell therapies targeting cancer and autoimmune diseases with an accent on immune-cell analytics, viral-vector engineering, and translational assay development. Focus on evaluating engineered viruses in cell-based assays and mouse models, characterizing lentiviral particles, and advancing discovery projects under GLP and EHS requirements.

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States; onsite. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary: $127,313–$167,099 USD per year, plus potential performance-based bonus and/or equity.

What you will do

  • Lead, design, and optimize research projects focused on next-generation in-vivo CAR-T therapies.
  • Identify novel solutions for in-vivo cell therapy challenges through literature analysis and project formation.
  • Isolate immune cells from healthy donors or patients and evaluate in-vivo CAR viruses using in-vitro assays and mouse models.
  • Conduct solid-tumor research using cell culture, transfection, flow cytometry, and cell-based functional assays.
  • Produce and characterize engineered viruses, measuring transduction rates through flow-based and vector copy number analyses.
  • Manage critical research data, present results to internal and external audiences, and maintain GLP and EHS compliance.

Requirements

  • PhD in immunology or a related discipline.
  • At least 4 years of experience in cell and gene therapy; in-vivo CAR-T experience is preferred.
  • Advanced experience in immune-cell analytics, multiparameter flow cytometry, cytotoxicity assays, and cytokine-release ELISA/MSD multiplex assays.
  • Experience with lentivirus production, titration, particle characterization, transduction, and molecular or flow-based quantification.
  • Proficiency in gene-delivery technologies including LVV, VLP, or LNP, with working knowledge of modified viral-vector design and evaluation.
  • Strong immunology, immunotherapy, molecular biology, cellular biology, communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with solid-tumor models and in-vivo cell-specific gene delivery.
  • Publications or patents demonstrating research productivity.
  • Deep understanding of solid-tumor models.
