Specialist - System Operations (Weekend Support)

Location: Fully remote within the United States. Four-day work week with 10-hour shifts, either Friday–Monday or Saturday–Tuesday, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM EDT. Weekend support is essential.

What you will do

• Monitor infrastructure alerts in HP OMi and perform first-level troubleshooting for RHEL, Rocky Linux/CentOS, and Windows servers.
• Manage server hardware, BIOS updates, RAID components, and Hyper-V virtualization platforms.
• Perform Linux and Windows patching, health checks, and compliance activities to maintain system availability.
• Automate operational tasks with Python and Git, and contribute independently to process improvement projects.
• Manage tickets, provide operational support, and collaborate with engineering teams on incidents and escalations.
• Create technical documentation, knowledge articles, procedures, and best practices in Confluence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, plus 7+ years supporting enterprise server infrastructure and production environments.
• Strong Linux and basic Windows server administration skills, including troubleshooting hardware with iDRAC, iLO, and related tools.
• Extensive experience with Python and working knowledge of Ansible, shell scripting, and/or PowerShell.
• Experience with API calls, dataset extraction, and operational analytics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to document technical information effectively.
• Availability for the stated United States-based remote schedule and essential weekend support.

Nice to have

• RHCSA, MCSE, or similar technical certification.
• Experience with cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with Splunk, Terraform, Tanium, Ansible Automation Platform, Foreman, Git, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of financial services, trading systems, or other highly available mission-critical environments.
