TL;DR

Technical Mitigation Handler (Insurance): Managing a caseload of technical mitigation claims, including personal injury, credit hire, and property damage, with an accent on risk mitigation and cost reduction. Focus on validating claims for indemnity, assessing liability and quantum, and coordinating with panel solicitors on litigated cases.

Location: Hybrid (Liverpool or Sevenoaks) or Remote within the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available; candidates must have at least one year remaining on a Graduate or Post-Study Work visa.

Salary: £35,271 – £41,556 per annum

What you will do

  • Manage a portfolio of high-risk/complex mitigation claims, including credit hire, personal injury, and property damage.
  • Validate claims for indemnity and fraud while performing proactive assessments of liability.
  • Conduct accurate quantum assessments of claims and apply reserves in line with company guidelines.
  • Serve as a referral point to coach and mentor less experienced handlers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve mitigation strategies and collaborate with the team to implement changes.
  • Work with panel solicitors on litigated cases handled on a non-delegated basis.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Level 3 Mitigation Handler or equivalent in a similar role.
  • Significant experience in handling credit hire and/or personal injury claims.
  • Extensive working knowledge of the Pre-Action Protocol, Civil Procedure Rules, and associated costs.
  • Commercial market awareness regarding credit hire, personal injury, and relevant case laws.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Must be based in the UK or hold a valid Graduate/Post-Study Work visa with at least one year remaining.
