Product Owner (Travel Technology)

Location: Hybrid employment in the Rotterdam office, Netherlands

Salary: Up to €6,000 gross per month

What you will do

• Own the billing product area, including product vision, backlog prioritization, user stories, acceptance criteria, and feature delivery.
• Design secure, resilient, and scalable payment and invoicing systems supporting multiple currencies, tax treatments, and payment providers.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Compliance, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales to translate regulatory, commercial, and customer needs into product capabilities.
• Improve billing operations by automating reconciliation, dispute handling, refunds, and cash collection.
• Define and monitor billing KPIs such as DSO, failed payments, and reconciliation rate to guide prioritization.
• Support integrations and migrations with external ERP and accounting systems while maintaining data integrity and smooth financial close processes.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar in billing, payments, invoicing, or finance-related products within a technology or SaaS environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, revenue recognition, VAT/GST, and cross-border taxation, with experience working with finance teams.
• Hands-on experience with user stories, acceptance criteria, backlog prioritization, and agile product delivery.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, including the ability to define product metrics and explain complex trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating payment gateways, acquiring banks, and ERP or accounting systems covering AP/AR processes.
