IT Staff Systems Engineer - VM (Infrastructure Automation & Virtualization)

What you will do

• Design and maintain Terraform and Ansible infrastructure-as-code for provisioning and lifecycle management of compute, storage, and networking resources.
• Develop Python and Bash automation scripts, integrate tooling, and support infrastructure CI/CD pipelines.
• Build GitHub Actions or equivalent pipelines for infrastructure deployment, policy-as-code, testing, and validation.
• Administer and optimize Nutanix, KVM, and VMware virtualization platforms for performance, availability, and capacity.
• Support hybrid cloud operations across AWS and/or Azure and contribute to architecture decisions for automation, virtualization, HCI, and cloud integration.
• Monitor infrastructure, respond to incidents, perform root-cause analysis, maintain documentation, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of infrastructure engineering experience focused on automation and infrastructure-as-code.
• Expert proficiency in Terraform and solid hands-on experience with Ansible.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash for automation, tooling, and operational tasks.
• Production experience with at least two of Nutanix, KVM/QEMU, and VMware vSphere/ESXi.
• Familiarity with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitOps workflows, GitHub version control, branching strategies, and pull requests.
• Knowledge of AWS or Azure, networking fundamentals, infrastructure security, technical documentation, and architecture diagrams.
