IT Staff Systems Engineer - VM (Infrastructure Automation & Virtualization): Building and maintaining infrastructure automation frameworks for on-premises and hybrid cloud environments with an accent on Terraform, Ansible, Python, virtualization, and CI/CD. Focus on managing Nutanix, KVM, and VMware platforms, integrating AWS or Azure, and solving infrastructure reliability, security, and lifecycle-management challenges.

What you will do
- Design and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions with Terraform and Ansible for compute, storage, and networking resources.
- Develop Python and Bash automation scripts, tooling integrations, and infrastructure deployment workflows.
- Build CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions or equivalent tools, including policy-as-code, testing, and validation.
- Administer and optimize Nutanix, KVM, and VMware virtualization platforms for performance, availability, and capacity.
- Support hybrid cloud operations across AWS and/or Azure and contribute to infrastructure architecture decisions.
- Monitor infrastructure, respond to incidents, perform root-cause analysis, document standards, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of infrastructure engineering experience focused on automation and infrastructure-as-code.
- Expert Terraform skills and solid hands-on Ansible experience, including modular configurations, idempotent playbooks, and role-based automation.
- Proficiency in Python and Bash for scripting, tooling development, API integration, and operational tasks.
- Production experience with at least two of Nutanix, KVM/QEMU, and VMware vSphere/ESXi.
- Experience with CI/CD platforms, GitOps workflows, GitHub or GitHub Enterprise, networking fundamentals, and technical documentation.
- Working knowledge of AWS or Azure, including compute, networking, IAM, and hybrid connectivity, is advantageous.
