TL;DR
PhD Position (Power Electronics): Conducting research on health monitoring and predictive reliability of advanced power electronic modules and systems within the EU-funded Moore4Power project with an accent on system integration and failure mechanisms. Focus on developing predictive reliability models, integrating sensors, and utilizing AI/ML for digital twins.
Location: Must be based in Delft, Netherlands
Salary: €3,059 - €3,881 gross per month

What you will do
- Conduct research on health monitoring and predictive reliability of advanced power electronic modules and systems.
- Collaborate with Dutch and European industrial partners within the EU-funded Moore4Power project.
- Develop and integrate sensors and instrumentation for power electronics.
- Apply data analytics, machine learning, and physics-based modeling to create digital twins.
- Publish scientific articles and complete a final thesis within the Graduate School.
Requirements
- MSc degree in Electrical & Mechanical Engineering, Power Electronics, Materials, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong background in power electronics, electronic packaging, system integration, and reliability.
- Knowledge of failure mechanisms, sensors, and instrumentation.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to collaborative research teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with data analytics, machine learning, or AI.
- Familiarity with digital twins or physics-based modeling.
- Knowledge of wide-bandgap semiconductor technologies.
