TL;DR
Managed Care Contracting Associate Director (Pharmaceutical): Leading end-to-end payer, provider, trade, distribution, and hospital group purchasing organization contract processes across marketed and pipeline products with an accent on pre- and post-deal analytics, negotiations, rebate administration, and pricing strategy. Focus on financial modeling, government pricing impacts, contract governance, and resolving rebate claim disputes across cross-functional teams.

Location: Boston, MA, United States. Hybrid schedule allows remote work up to two days per week, or five days per week on-site with ad hoc flexibility.

Salary: $152,000–$228,000 annual base salary, plus potential annual bonus and equity awards.

What you will do

  • Lead end-to-end development and administration of payer, provider, trade and distribution, and hospital group purchasing organization contracts.
  • Coordinate pre-deal analytics, negotiations, redlining, legal review, governance, post-deal analytics, and contract reporting.
  • Maintain bid and offer calendars, contract matrices, documentation, and execution status communications.
  • Transition executed contracts to operational teams by explaining key terms and implementation requirements.
  • Provide analysis supporting gross-to-net forecasting, contracting, pricing decisions, and business planning.
  • Advise on rebate analysis, payments, contract performance, and resolution of rebate claim disputes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline required.
  • Typically at least 8 years of experience in payer contracting, contract administration, analytics, finance, accounting, sales, government pricing, or a related pharmaceutical or life sciences area.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical pricing government programs, associated regulations, managed care, formulary coverage, market share, and profitability.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills, including the ability to use financial models.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project management, communication, interpersonal, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines, work independently, and adapt to changing priorities.

Nice to have

  • Experience advising on strategic and operational contract administration matters across pharmaceutical market access functions.
