Controls Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in Lockport, New York, United States; full-time onsite presence is required.

Salary: $90,000–$139,000 base compensation per year, plus bonus potential.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment and resolve control-system issues across the plant.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with diverse plant teams.
• Identify system vulnerabilities, develop mitigation plans, and track corrective actions.
• Design and manage strategic system interfaces that support component reuse and engineering best practices.
• Create and implement tests to identify design-improvement opportunities.
• Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to support continuous improvement.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of technical knowledge in electrical and control systems applied to manufacturing, or a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Ability to work occasional off shifts and overtime as needed.
• Immigration-related sponsorship is not available, including H-1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, J-1, and other work authorization requiring company immigration support.
• Ability to use computers, interpret blueprints and engineering drawings, and learn new systems.
• Ability to manage multiple complex assignments with autonomy and accountability.

Nice to have

• Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, Fanuc or ABB robotics, and Cognex or Keyence vision systems.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, high-voltage power distribution, servo motors, motion control, and drives.
• Understanding of mechanical concepts, machine design, and manufacturing process requirements.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
