Production Technician

TL;DR

Production Technician (Manufacturing): Performing hands-on seed production operations, including equipment operation, quality control, and maintenance with an accent on safety and process efficiency. Focus on utilizing automated systems, supporting warehousing and field activities, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in a high-volume agricultural environment.

Location: Must be based in Johnston, Iowa, USA (On-site role)

What you will do

• Operate process equipment while strictly adhering to safety policies.
• Ensure compliance with quality plans and work instructions.
• Collect and record production data for continuous improvement.
• Support preventative maintenance and general repair efforts.
• Assist with warehousing, forklift operation, and harvest activities.
• Perform field management tasks including scouting and logistical planning.

Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States (no visa sponsorship available).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays during seasonal peaks.
• Proficiency with computers, iPads, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Valid US driver’s license.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs and work in various weather conditions.

Nice to have

• Associate degree or two-year trade degree.
• Experience with Lean manufacturing (5S, Continuous Improvement).
• Knowledge of WMS and SAP/ERP systems.
• Previous forklift operation and agricultural experience.
• Mechanical skillset.
