Mechanical Engineer (Value Engineering)

Location: Beverly, MA, United States — onsite

Salary: $74,935.39–$112,403.09 base salary per year, plus eligibility for a team incentive bonus and benefits for regular employees working 20+ hours per week.

What you will do

• Source, evaluate, select, and qualify mechanical components for semiconductor equipment and systems.
• Investigate alternative component technologies, materials, and suppliers to reduce costs and improve quality and reliability.
• Act as the technical interface between suppliers and internal engineering teams during component selection, qualification, and issue resolution.
• Lead component qualification activities, including testing, validation, documentation, and release.
• Evaluate supplier change notifications and determine qualification requirements for component changes.
• Support business continuity, root cause investigations, reliability improvements, and continuous value engineering initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 2–4 years of professional engineering experience in value engineering, product development, manufacturing engineering, component engineering, supplier quality, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical components, engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience working with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite in Beverly, Massachusetts, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with component and supplier qualification processes.
• Familiarity with engineering change management and PLM systems.
• Knowledge of reliability engineering, risk assessment, and failure analysis.
• Experience with cost reduction and value engineering in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in semiconductor equipment, industrial equipment, or another high-technology industry.
