What you will do

• Manage the health of VoIP infrastructure, including SBCs, SIP trunking, and media gateways across redundant data centers.
• Design capacity planning strategies and implement automated alerting to ensure 99.99%+ service availability.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for complex voice quality and call-routing issues using diagnostic tools like Wireshark and Homer.
• Develop automation scripts in Python, Bash, or Go for provisioning, monitoring, and configuration management.
• Coordinate with Tier 1 carriers for circuit provisioning and optimize call-routing strategies for cost and quality.
• Ensure compliance with e911 regulations, toll-fraud detection, and SOC 2 security standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience supporting SIP-based VoIP environments in enterprise or SaaS settings.
• Expert-level understanding of SIP, RTP, SRTP, WebRTC, and ENUM protocols.
• Strong proficiency in Linux administration (Ubuntu/CentOS/RHEL) in production environments.
• Solid grasp of IP networking, including DNS, TLS, load balancing, VLANs, and NAT traversal.
• Proven ability to write automation scripts in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Must be based in the United States to support US-based infrastructure and operations.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kamailio, FreeSWITCH, or Oracle/Ribbon SBCs.
• Familiarity with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and IaC (Terraform, Ansible).
• Experience with observability stacks like Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog.
• Background in telecom regulatory compliance, STIR-SHAKEN, or number portability.
