Development Chemist R&D (Silicones)

What you will do

• Develop and evaluate laboratory formulations for silicone-based sealants and adhesives.
• Perform product testing and assess application suitability and performance requirements.
• Support scale-up from laboratory development to manufacturing and commercial production.
• Improve existing products, evaluate new raw materials, and define technical specifications and quality parameters.
• Maintain laboratory infrastructure, equipment, and test instruments safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Quality, EHS, Product Management, Operations, Technical Service, and Sales; investigate customer complaints and technical issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, or a graduate engineering degree focused on chemical or process engineering.
• Strong understanding of chemistry, materials science, and product formulation principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical evaluation, project management, and collaboration skills.
• Very good German and English communication skills, written and spoken.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

• Experience developing, formulating, or applying industrial adhesives and sealants.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing methods, analytical techniques, and product performance evaluation.
• Customer-facing experience translating application requirements into technical solutions.
• Proficiency with SAP S/4HANA.
• Willingness to travel internationally as required.
