TL;DR
Business Development Manager (Publishing): Driving Open Research and Open Science revenue across the Americas market with an accent on strategic engagement with institutions and funders. Focus on growing new business from non-traditional academic customers and optimizing sales tools for Open Research.
Location: Must be based in or within a commutable distance to Philadelphia, PA, USA (Hybrid: 3x per week in office)
Salary: $95,000 - $105,000 + bonus (30% to 100% of base)

What you will do
- Drive Open Research revenue by engaging key prospects in the Americas market.
- Develop sustainable plans and identify new products and services to meet customer needs.
- Build relationships with institutions, funders, and research centers to protect and grow revenue.
- Partner with internal Sales Support and Academic Sales divisions on new agreements and renewals.
- Expand revenue from non-traditional customers such as NGOs, think-tanks, and research centers.
- Promote the company's position in the Open Research community through conferences and presentations.
Requirements
- Significant experience in a publishing sales environment, including business development and lead generation.
- Considerable knowledge of the Open Science/Research space and the scholarly ecosystem.
- Strong networking and communication skills for managing internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and deliver on sales plans and targets.
- Must have the right to live and work in the US.
- Must live within a commutable distance of Philadelphia, PA.
