TL;DR
Software Development Engineer, AWS Database Migration Service (Cloud, Databases, AI): Building scalable serverless microservices and agent-driven workflows that automate assessment, schema conversion, data movement, and validation for database migrations with an accent on reliability, security, performance, and natural-language developer experiences. Focus on designing distributed systems for multi-terabyte workloads, minimizing migration downtime, debugging high-concurrency orchestration issues, and mentoring engineers.

What you will do
- Design and implement scalable, serverless microservices for assessment, schema conversion, data movement, and validation.
- Develop agent-driven migration workflows using natural-language interfaces and developer tools such as Kiro, Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex.
- Own the end-to-end migration lifecycle for SQL Server and Oracle workloads moving to PostgreSQL-based RDS and Aurora.
- Solve distributed-systems challenges involving reliability, security, performance, consistency, throughput, and high concurrency.
- Mentor SDE I engineers through code reviews, design guidance, and pair programming.
- Participate in on-call rotations and operational excellence initiatives.
Requirements
- Professional, non-internship software development experience, including development within the last three years.
- Experience programming in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, with object-oriented design.
- Experience mentoring, serving as a technical lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Experience leading architecture and design for new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience across the software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
