Software Development Engineer, AWS Database Migration Service

Location: Dublin, Ireland; onsite

AWS is a cloud platform providing infrastructure and managed services, including hirify.global RDS and database migration capabilities.

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable, serverless microservices for assessment, schema conversion, data movement, and validation.
• Develop agent-driven migration workflows using natural-language interfaces and developer tools such as Kiro, Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex.
• Own the end-to-end migration lifecycle for SQL Server and Oracle workloads moving to PostgreSQL-based hirify.global RDS and hirify.global Aurora.
• Solve distributed-systems challenges involving reliability, security, performance, consistency, throughput, and high concurrency.
• Mentor SDE I engineers through code reviews, design guidance, and pair programming.
• Participate in on-call rotations and operational excellence initiatives.

Requirements

• Professional, non-internship software development experience, including development within the last three years.
• Experience programming in at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, with object-oriented design.
• Experience mentoring, serving as a technical lead, or leading an engineering team.
• Experience leading architecture and design for new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Experience across the software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
