Financial Services Compliance

Location: Hybrid in Denver, San Francisco, or New York; employees in these locations are expected to work from the office approximately 2–3 days per week or more depending on the role. San Francisco office expectations include the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.

Salary: $148,085–$182,638 per year in Denver and most major metro locations; $174,470–$215,180 per year in San Francisco and New York.

What you will do

• Advise Product, Engineering, Legal, Marketing, Operations, and business leaders on financial services and payments compliance.
• Build and scale the Compliance Management Program across lending, embedded finance, deposit products, payments, and money movement.
• Lead regulatory change management and translate complex requirements into guidance, controls, procedures, training, and documentation.
• Oversee monitoring, control testing, risk assessments, issue management, and consumer protection compliance.
• Manage vendor onboarding, third-party risk assessments, due diligence, and oversight of financial services and payments partners.
• Support banking partners, audits, examinations, regulatory inquiries, reporting, and remediation activities while developing AI-enabled compliance workflows with human oversight.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant compliance experience in an in-house legal, compliance, risk, or regulatory function at a regulated financial institution, fintech, payments company, or financial services business.
• Deep knowledge of financial services and payments regulations, including TILA, TISA, ECOA, FCRA, FDCPA, Reg E, UDAAP, NACHA rules, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and related state laws.
• Experience with embedded finance, banking-as-a-service, sponsor bank partnerships, payments, ACH, card programs, lending, or deposit products.
• Experience building or scaling compliance programs, including policies, controls, monitoring, training, issue management, and regulatory change management.
• Experience advising product and engineering teams and working with banking partners, processors, auditors, or regulators.
• Demonstrated use of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Glean, Notion AI, or similar to create scalable workflows with appropriate human review and quality controls.
