What you will do

• Lead and mentor software engineers in the design and development of flight and mission simulators.
• Modernize legacy codebases to improve stability and expand system capabilities.
• Collaborate with hardware and systems engineering to align software with program needs.
• Manage projects using Waterfall and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Troubleshoot complex issues in real-time systems to ensure high-stakes training success.
• Manage team growth, including hiring, performance evaluations, and coaching.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in mission-critical or real-time systems.
• 3–5 years of experience leading teams or serving as a technical lead.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to government contract requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Program Access.
• Strong mastery of real-time/embedded or simulation development.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating modern technology into legacy architectures.
• Proficiency with Atlassian suite, GitHub/GitLab, and Jenkins.
• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Prior experience in defense or military sectors.
