TL;DR

Service Transition Lead (ITSM/Education): Ensuring new and changing IT services are introduced in a controlled, secure, and supportable manner with an accent on digital transformation and AI-driven initiatives. Focus on designing service acceptance criteria, coordinating readiness checkpoints, and aligning delivery teams with operational support.

Location: Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week in the Manchester office)

Salary: £54,300 – £60,700

What you will do

  • Lead service transition across projects to ensure services are ready, supportable, and aligned at go-live.
  • Define and secure service acceptance criteria and run readiness checkpoints.
  • Collaborate with project teams and Enterprise Technology functions to prepare support teams and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the transition of new, changed, or retired services into live operations.
  • Manage knowledge transfer and documentation updates during the transition process.
  • Report on KPIs and success metrics to the Service Transition Manager.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in service transition, service management, or IT project delivery.
  • ITIL Foundation certification (ITIL Practitioner or higher preferred).
  • Strong stakeholder management and influence skills, including handling challenging conversations.
  • Experience leading transition and organisational design activity for managed service implementations.
  • Must be based in or able to commute to Manchester for hybrid work (min 2 days/week).

Nice to have

  • PRINCE2, Agile, or other recognized project management certifications.
  • Experience in large-scale IT environments or regulated sectors such as the public sector or finance.
