Senior FP&A Controller (Aerospace)

TL;DR
Senior FP&A Controller (Aerospace): Driving budgeting, rolling forecasts, scenario analyses, and operational performance reporting for autonomous aerial systems with an accent on financial transparency, business partnering, and scalable FP&A infrastructure. Focus on building financial models, translating operational data into actionable insights, and improving planning tools, automation, and data quality.
Location: Hybrid role based in Gilching or Berlin, Germany

develops and produces small unmanned aerial systems, including electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, with software for edge computing and real-time AI-powered data processing.
What you will do
- Drive annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, mid-term financial plans, and long-range planning activities.
- Develop scenario analyses, sensitivities, and what-if models to support business decisions.
- Establish operational reporting cadences, including weekly KPI check-ins with stakeholders.
- Monitor financial and operational KPIs, perform variance and trend analyses, and provide actionable insights.
- Partner with departments on planning, performance tracking, cost initiatives, investments, and headcount planning.
- Develop FP&A tools and processes, ensure consistency across planning, BI, and ERP systems, and improve automation and data quality.
Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience in FP&A or controlling with a strong operational focus.
- Hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, business mindset, and the ability to translate complex data into clear recommendations.
- Effective communication with finance and non-finance stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
- Fluent English required.
Nice to have
- Anaplan or other modern planning tool experience.
- Initial leadership or mentoring experience and motivation to take on future leadership responsibility.
- Experience in a scaling or transformation environment.
- Exposure to Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python.
- CIMA, ACCA, or another professional qualification.
