TL;DR
Solution Engineer (Defence) (C4I software and IT infrastructure): Deploying, integrating, configuring, testing, and supporting mission-critical command-and-control solutions across customer defence environments with an accent on tactical communications, cloud and on-premises deployments, and secure technical infrastructure. Focus on integrating C4I products with coalition systems, sensors, effectors, and communication systems, while delivering customer training and level 1 and 2 support.
Location: Wellington CBD office and customer site in Upper Hutt, New Zealand; approximately 10 days of domestic travel per year and onboarding travel to Aarhus, Denmark.

What you will do
- Install, configure, deploy, maintain, and support C4I software in customer environments used for testing, training, exercises, and operations.
- Set up and test integrations between C4I products, coalition systems, sensors, effectors, and communication systems.
- Design, implement, and support technical solutions across cloud-based and on-premises environments.
- Perform development, testing, integration, and maintenance in secure technical environments.
- Coordinate stakeholders and help deliver projects within scope and schedule.
- Provide level 1 and 2 customer support and deliver technical training to customers, administrators, and users.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
- Experience with Windows, Linux, Android-based operating systems, Active Directory, database management systems, and XMPP chat.
- Experience with software development technologies including Java, C#, and JavaScript.
- Experience deploying applications to cloud-based and on-premises environments.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Jira, configuration management tools, and Git.
- Must hold, or be able to obtain and maintain, a high level of security clearance and meet the eligibility criteria for New Zealand Defence work. Background checks, qualification checks, and police checks are required.
