Solution Engineer (Defence)

Location: Wellington CBD office and customer site in Upper Hutt, New Zealand; approximately 10 days of domestic travel per year and onboarding travel to Aarhus, Denmark.

What you will do

• Install, configure, deploy, maintain, and support C4I software in customer environments used for testing, training, exercises, and operations.
• Set up and test integrations between C4I products, coalition systems, sensors, effectors, and communication systems.
• Design, implement, and support technical solutions across cloud-based and on-premises environments.
• Perform development, testing, integration, and maintenance in secure technical environments.
• Coordinate stakeholders and help deliver projects within scope and schedule.
• Provide level 1 and 2 customer support and deliver technical training to customers, administrators, and users.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
• Experience with Windows, Linux, Android-based operating systems, Active Directory, database management systems, and XMPP chat.
• Experience with software development technologies including Java, C#, and JavaScript.
• Experience deploying applications to cloud-based and on-premises environments.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Jira, configuration management tools, and Git.
• Must hold, or be able to obtain and maintain, a high level of security clearance and meet the eligibility criteria for New Zealand Defence work. Background checks, qualification checks, and police checks are required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of military command information systems, tactical radio devices, radio networks, and ITIL.
