What you will do

• Lead and mentor engineering teams to build reliable, performant, and scalable payment solutions.
• Define long-term technical strategy and architecture in collaboration with senior leadership.
• Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, Data Science, Finance, and Legal teams.
• Drive engineering excellence, from design and code reviews to production stability.
• Identify business opportunities and prioritize engineering requirements to maximize impact.
• Hire, retain, and grow a diverse team of high-performing engineers.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States in a state where Airbnb has a registered entity.
• 9+ years of software development industry experience.
• 3-5+ years of hands-on experience managing an engineering team.
• Strong expertise in building large-scale backend systems.
• Proven ability to balance short-term execution with long-term platform health.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
