TL;DR

Senior Transmission Implementation Engineer (Telecom): Leading the implementation, commissioning, and optimization of optical transport networks with an accent on DWDM infrastructure and transponder platforms. Focus on managing complex migrations, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring high-quality network delivery across global enterprise environments.

Location: Must be based in or near Mexico City, Mexico (Hybrid/Remote)

What you will do

Lead the implementation of Optical Transport Networks within agreed lead times.
Oversee installation, commissioning, and service turn-up of optical transmission equipment.
Perform DWDM link and EoL platform migrations in coordination with onsite technicians.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors on network expansion and optimization.
Provide logistics coordination for equipment shipments between warehouses and deployment sites.
Maintain accurate documentation and network inventory systems.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in a telecommunications company covering Plan, Build, and Operate functions.
Proven expertise as a DWDM Network Engineer.
Extensive configuration experience with Infinera, Nokia, and Ciena platforms.
Experience guiding onsite technicians remotely during installations and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of fibre infrastructure, cable routing, and ODF connectivity.
Must be based in Mexico City for hybrid operations.

Nice to have

University degree in a relevant field.
Vendor certifications from Nokia, Infinera, or Ciena.
