What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain transaction monitoring and sanctions screening models.
• Use SQL and analytical tools to analyze customer behavior, transaction patterns, and risk ratings.
• Develop bespoke rules and logic to address specific AML and sanctions risks.
• Partner with Compliance, Product, and Data teams to translate regulatory requirements into analytical frameworks.
• Evaluate and tune detection models to minimize false positives while maintaining regulatory rigor.
• Document model configurations, thresholds, and performance monitoring artifacts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (CS, Engineering, Statistics, Math).
• 8+ years of experience in data analytics, with at least 5 years in FCC or AML/Sanctions roles.
• Expert-level SQL skills and proficiency in Python or similar analytical tools.
• Deep understanding of AML and Sanctions principles and regulations.
• Experience developing and maintaining machine learning or rule-based detection models.
• Must be authorized to work in the US or Canada.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with modern ML tooling such as scikit-learn or XGBoost.
• Experience with model risk management and validation processes.
