Salary: $182,700 - $274,000 Annually

What you will do
- Define the end-to-end technical architecture of the Agentic Database data plane, including storage models, WAL strategies, and extension frameworks.
- Lead technical Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to validate architectural designs against real-world customer workloads.
- Serve as the primary technical authority in architecture reviews and cross-team dependency resolution.
- Design integration architectures between the database and broader AI-enabled enterprise platforms.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers on database internals and production-quality engineering standards.
Requirements
- 12+ years of industry experience in designing and operating large-scale distributed systems or cloud data infrastructure.
- Deep, hands-on Postgres source-level expertise, including query planners, storage layers, and MVCC.
- Systems programming proficiency in C or C++ for data plane development.
- Proven ability to own architecture end-to-end from design through production launch.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and reside within the country.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and agent frameworks like LangChain or LangGraph.
- Experience with control plane concerns such as automated failover, multi-tenant isolation, and upgrade automation.
