What you will do

• Manage a team of approximately five to ten underwriting professionals.
• Provide guidance and solutions for complex underwriting scenarios and loan-level escalations.
• Perform second-level mortgage reviews and ensure adherence to service level agreements.
• Monitor underwriting pipelines to maintain productivity and quality standards.
• Mentor and coach underwriting staff to support professional development and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with operations and sales teams to ensure high-quality customer service.

Requirements

• Must be based in the USA
• 5+ years of mortgage underwriting experience including FHA, VA, USDA, and conventional loans.
• 3+ years of underwriting management experience.
• Direct Endorsement status from HUD and/or SAR authority from VA.
• Strong understanding of ATR/QM requirements and compliance/disclosure regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Nice to have

• Experience with Encompass LOS.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
