What you will do

• Develop and execute a Chapter Sustainability Plan to drive revenue growth and long-term impact.
• Secure major gifts from corporations, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals.
• Lead local operations, including staff management, budget oversight, and program execution.
• Recruit and steward a high-performing local Advisory Board to support regional goals.
• Build and maintain relationships with military installation leaders, elected officials, and corporate partners.
• Represent the organization as a thought leader in the community to advocate for military families.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 7+ years of experience in nonprofit leadership or community development.
• 5+ years of management experience with direct staff leadership.
• Proven track record of securing six-figure philanthropic gifts.
• Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Hampton Roads area with extensive local knowledge.
• Exceptional executive communication and public speaking skills.
• Ability to travel overnight for staff offsites and company events.

• Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
• Deep understanding of military culture and the lived experience of military families.
• Existing network and knowledge of the Hampton Roads nonprofit ecosystem.
