Sr. Algorithm Engineer (Image Processing)

Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA; hybrid work with 3 days in the office each week

What you will do

• Design, develop, and optimize image processing and computer vision algorithms for semiconductor photomask inspection products.
• Research and evaluate approaches in image processing, signal processing, computer vision, and machine learning.
• Prototype and validate algorithms in MATLAB or Python, then implement production-quality solutions in C++ on Linux.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn technical concepts into customer-facing product capabilities.
• Analyze complex image data and improve defect detection accuracy, sensitivity, and throughput.
• Use parallel and GPU-accelerated computing while supporting the full development lifecycle from proof of concept through productization.

Requirements

• 1–4 years of industry experience developing image processing solutions.
• Hands-on experience solving computer vision challenges and strong image processing fundamentals.
• Experience prototyping algorithms with MATLAB or Python and implementing them in C++ under Linux is highly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience, master’s degree plus 3 years, or PhD plus 0 years.
• International and domestic travel of up to 10% is required.

Nice to have

• Linear and nonlinear optimization experience.
• CUDA or other GPU programming frameworks, including PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Optical or electron-beam modeling experience.
• Experience with complex image acquisition systems and conventional or traditional image processing research.
