Senior ML Engineer, Computer Vision

What you will do

• Develop computer vision solution prototypes that improve robotic trailer-unloading capabilities.
• Create rapid prototypes and demonstrations for stakeholders and visitors.
• Identify high-impact improvements for robotic systems operating in complex, dynamic environments.
• Support the transition of prototypes into product teams and provide technical subject-matter expertise.
• Evaluate advances in robotics and related fields for application to real-world challenges.
• Communicate technical priorities and project status while mentoring junior engineers or interns.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in robotics, machine learning, computer vision, computer science, or a related field.
• 4+ years of software development experience focused on robotic manipulation or related areas.
• Strong Python and C++ development skills.
• Experience with PyTorch and data science libraries including NumPy, pandas, SciPy, Matplotlib, and scikit-learn.
• Experience training and adapting computer vision architectures such as CNNs, ViTs, or VLMs for detection, segmentation, grasp estimation, depth estimation, or anomaly detection.
• Ability to troubleshoot real robotic systems, rapidly iterate on solutions, communicate technical priorities, work independently, and provide technical leadership.

Nice to have

• MS or PhD in machine learning, computer vision, computer science, or a related field.
• Experience with robotic vision sensors, camera-to-robot calibration, RGB and depth data, real and synthetic datasets, and real-time perception-based control.
• Experience with Isaac Sim or other robot simulators, ROS or ROS2, Docker, cloud computing, MongoDB, experiment tracking, and dataset management.
• Experience combining model-based and data-driven approaches or working with parallel, distributed, asynchronous, or concurrent systems.
