Staff Computer Vision Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid at the Chicago headquarters with travel to manufacturing sites across North America

Salary: $120,800–$151,000 base salary per year, plus performance-based bonus

What you will do

• Lead the design, training, evaluation, deployment, and scale-up of computer vision and edge AI solutions for manufacturing applications.
• Develop object detection, classification, segmentation, OCR, anomaly detection, tracking, and multimodal AI systems.
• Design data, experimentation, validation, and performance measurement methodologies for production environments.
• Design complete machine vision systems using cameras, sensors, lenses, illumination, triggers, industrial networking, and edge computing.
• Select imaging hardware and deploy machine learning workloads to edge platforms, including NVIDIA Jetson.
• Build and maintain Docker images and containerized deployment workflows while partnering with engineering, manufacturing, quality, operations, IT, cloud, and analytics teams.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, data science, applied mathematics, robotics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant professional or applied research experience in computer vision, machine learning, robotics, industrial automation, or related disciplines.
• Deep expertise in computer vision, deep learning, and machine learning, with experience leading technically complex projects.
• Advanced Python proficiency and experience developing production-quality technical solutions.
• Strong Linux development and administration skills, including command-line workflows, SSH, SCP, remote troubleshooting, and system configuration.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, production AI/ML deployments, cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, and end-to-end hardware, networking, IoT, and software integration.
