TL;DR
Data Engineer (AI) (Python/SQL/Airflow): Building a common datalake and canonical data model by ingesting heterogeneous airline systems and external sources for an AI-powered operations control solution, with an accent on data integration, pipeline quality, and airline onboarding. Focus on mapping complex source schemas, designing reliable ETL/ELT pipelines, and solving data-quality challenges while supporting product and science teams.
Location: Barcelona, Spain. Hybrid work with work-from-home up to 2 days per week, depending on team needs.

What you will do
- Ingest heterogeneous airline systems and external sources into the OCCam data platform.
- Build a common datalake and canonical data model for product, Back-End, and Science teams.
- Own pipeline-level data quality through checks, reconciliation, and issue investigation.
- Support several airline integrations in parallel to accelerate client onboarding.
- Map airline source schemas into a canonical data dictionary and document assumptions.
- Collaborate with product, Back-End, Science, and client-facing onboarding teams.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python and SQL with relational databases including PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle.
- Hands-on experience with Airflow and ETL or ELT design.
- Understanding of datalakes, data modeling, and canonical data model design.
- Experience with MSSQL linked servers, schema mapping, and source-system reverse engineering.
- Experience with, or ability to quickly learn, AWS data services and data-quality frameworks.
- Knowledge of airline operational data, structured problem-solving, strong documentation discipline, and understanding of GDPR and client data-privacy requirements.
Nice to have
- Experience with airline operational systems such as Netline, SCHEDOPS, XCREW, or similar.
- Airline Operations Management knowledge.
