Data Engineer (E-commerce)

What you will do

• Design and evolve scalable event-driven architectures and define Kafka topic strategies and partitioning models.
• Build reliable real-time data pipelines and improve platform observability and performance.
• Drive engineering standards for data modeling, CI/CD, testing, and infrastructure automation.
• Support the migration from legacy integrations toward modern cloud-native architectures.
• Collaborate within an agile, product-driven team to meet high-performance platform requirements.
• Mentor team members on architectural and technical decisions.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer.
• Deep practical knowledge and production experience with Kafka and event-driven architecture.
• Solid understanding of data modeling and scalable processing concepts.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with software quality tools including Unit Tests, TDD, and Test Automation.
• Very good English language proficiency (C1).

Nice to have

• Experience with Enterprise Service Bus technologies (e.g., Qlik Talend or SAP S4 / BTP).
• Good German language skills.
