What you will do

• Build cost models using internal and external databases to establish Design-to-Cost targets for automotive components and modules.
• Define best practice cost references for automotive products down to the component level.
• Analyze supplier quote cost breakdowns to identify and understand all cost influent factors.
• Lead the technical implementation of electronic system cost modeling and trend analytics solutions.
• Collaborate with suppliers to identify emerging technologies and best cost solutions.
• Support Procurement and Engineering teams during the quoting and negotiating phases to ensure target costing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in cost engineering, VA/VE, and design/development of electronic systems.
• Proven technical leadership with the ability to review the work of other cost engineers.
• Experience with complex electronic components, modules, and assemblies.
• Ability to breakdown component costs into constituent costs and influence technical alignment.
• Fluency in English and willingness to travel up to 20% (domestic and international).

Nice to have

• Master's degree in engineering.
• 2+ years of experience specifically developing cost models for components and assemblies.
• Experience with automotive-grade components and electronic systems.
