What you will do
- Lead, hire, and mentor Staff and Senior Engineers across DevEx and DevOps teams.
- Drive delivery by creating structure and alignment without over-engineering processes.
- Champion developer experience by identifying and removing friction in build times, tooling, and CI/CD.
- Partner with technical leads to guide decision-making and uphold quality standards.
- Stay hands-on with complex projects to maintain technical credibility and spot potential issues early.
- Bridge the gap between platform teams and the wider engineering organization to ensure focus on high-impact work.
Requirements
- Must be based in the United Kingdom
- Strong background in backend software engineering.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams in a high-growth environment.
- Experience as a consumer of platform or DevOps tooling, with a deep understanding of developer pain points.
- Ability to manage multiple teams simultaneously while maintaining clarity and momentum.
- Experience leading distributed teams in a remote-first, async-first culture.
Nice to have
- Direct experience leading a Platform, DevEx, or DevOps team.
- Familiarity with modern CI/CD, build tooling, and internal platform technologies.
