Intern in Testing Capabilities (Direct Air Capture)

Location: Zurich, Switzerland; hybrid work setup with onsite work at least three days per week.

Compensation: CHF 2,000 per month during BSc or MSc; CHF 2,500 per month after completion of an MSc.

What you will do

• Support the development of measurement instrumentation and control systems for direct air capture testing infrastructure.
• Assist with automation software development to improve consistency between facilities and increase efficiency.
• Investigate adsorption and desorption processes to improve process understanding and performance.
• Execute testing methods and critically evaluate test data for accuracy and reliability.
• Assess the feasibility of measurement methods and recommend improvements or alternative approaches.

Requirements

• Completed a BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Process Engineering, Automation, or a related field within the past year, or currently enrolled in a master's program.
• Knowledge of testing process design, measurement techniques, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics.
• Knowledge of at least one high-level programming language, such as Python or C++.
• Reliable, performance-driven, hands-on, and structured working style, with the ability to work independently and in fast-paced teams.
• Fluent English required.
• Available to start on October 1, 2026, for a six-month internship.

Nice to have

• Experience with PLC programming or industrial communication protocols.
• Motivation to deepen knowledge of measurement technology, industrial process controls, and software development.
